Back Lever Tutorial

When somebody says Back Lever the first association that I do is with the word “foundation”. For that’s what the back lever is, it’s the foundation for much harder moves like the planche and the maltese cross on still rings. Moves that you see every professional gymnast perform on the Olympics.

So to say the least if you are somewhat advanced with bodyweight training, feeling comfortable with the chin-ups and pull-ups this is what you should progress with. I even encourage my clients to learn the back lever before they hop on the front lever. Both moves target intensely the back and the shoulder muscles. However the back lever is much easier and whilst learning it you’ll develop a nice amount of muscle mass and strength. Arsenal that will come handy when you move onto the Front Lever.

Again, below I am providing you with 2 versions of the Back Lever tutorial that I’ve produced for you. Pick whichever feels more convenient to you. Enjoy!
