Jordan Jovtchev Did It Again!

At the age of 39(!) Jovtchev managed to become the first gymnast in the world to qualify to compete on 6 Olympic games! Just several days ago he managed to win his qualifications for the Summer 2012 Olympics in London! That also makes him the only gymnast who hasn’t missed competing in the Olympics for the last 24 years!

It seriously brings a tear to my eye thinking about his heroism. I don’t know which of his feats is more respectable – the fact that he is 39 and since Bulgaria has no gymnastics team right now he has to represent us on all 6 apparatus on his own. That means he had to qualify overally on all 6 apparatus and NOT just rings!

Or the fact that he is in charge of Bulgaria’s gymnastics federation. He has to manage all local events, national gymnastics clubs and AT THE SAME TIME train and maintain a world class level. Truly admirable. It goes to show 2 things – his limitless love for the sport and the potential of the human body and mind!

Sincerely,
-Arthlete
