Today I will tell you about The Sad Pull-Up Artist or the story of the One Arm Chinup Tutorial.
When I first started releasing my tutorials on YouTube I needed some music to go along with them in the background. So I picked some tracks I liked and used for my videos. Soon after YouTube started taking them down so I had to re-upload them again. This time I had to look for music with a license that would allow me to use it as a YouTube partner. Finding proper a track of that kind turned out to be mission impossible, and I needed 6! Hence the reason why the music on all written tutorials is far away from being great.
People were complaining here and there on some videos but one attracted more than the average amount of complaints. The audience felt like the song was really off and not suitable for the video. In addition they said it gave a sad vibe to the whole clip.
I would receive all kinds of comments – some rude, some funny but one stood out more than the rest annoying me at first but then amusing me ever after. Not only me though, all of the audience found the comment amusing hence the 108 thumbs up. There was this guy who suggested that the video should be called “the sad pull-up artist”.
Of course at this point you most certainly have figured out that I was not sad when making the video and it was not my intention to give it a sad feeling when mixing it with that song. It was just almost impossible to find a proper song so at one point I gave up and put whatever sounded at least average just to make sure that there would be some sound in the background. Little did I know of how this would result later on…
And the funny outcome indeed is that Google somehow acknowledged this comment and now labelled me as the sad pull-up artist. How? Well just look it up on Google and see what the first result out of the 2,950,000 would be.
I hope this would finally shed some light as to why the music in the video is such. Also that this entertained you for a quick 3 minutes of your day. :-)
